Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Howes Community Primary School.
Thank you for visiting our school website and on behalf of the whole school community, I would like to welcome you to Howes Community Primary school. We hope that you find the website useful and informative and it gives you a glimpse into the wonderful world of Howes.
Howes Community Primary school is full to the brim of amazing children and staff who all strive to be the best that they can be. Children at Howes experience a range of exciting and innovative opportunities that enables everyone to shine, have fun and learn. We have approximately 180 children in school from Nursery to year six.
The children at Howes display positive behaviour and they have beautiful manners and an enthusiasm and zest for school life. Visitors regularly comment on the friendly and welcoming ethos and culture that we have in school. Being part of a diverse and inclusive school, the children and staff live out the values of the school daily as we prepare our children for their future years as responsible and respectful members of the local and wider community with the ability to overcome challenges that they may face in an ever-changing world.
We are fortunate to have a Hearing Resource Base as part of our inclusive school. The Keys, although not part of Howes, is situated on site to support children from the city who require intervention to support them with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Our curriculum at Howes enables the children to have time to revisit and embed their learning through a vast range of opportunities as they develop their skills and knowledge across the curriculum. Every child shines at Howes! We are fortunate at Howes to have excellent facilities and a modern, bright school which supports the children’s learning opportunities. We have an excellent Early Years Unit with an wonderful outdoor area and space for inquisitive little people. We have a huge amount of outside green space for sporting activities and an outdoor gym. Inside, we have a magical woodland library and calm, learning environments across school.
As a school staff, we are very supportive to all of our children, but we also have Roux, our school dog mentor, who supports children with their learning and pastoral needs.
I am proud to be the headteacher at Howes Community Primary School and feel privileged to be part of a great community family. If you would like any more information on Howes or you would like to arrange a visit to the school, please do not hesitate to contact the school office – we look forward to your visit.
